{"id":801,"date":"2016-03-16T00:31:31","date_gmt":"2016-03-16T00:31:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mrzeros.com\/blog\/?p=801"},"modified":"2016-03-16T00:32:07","modified_gmt":"2016-03-16T00:32:07","slug":"801-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mrzeros.com\/blog\/801-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Micky Dolenz: Circus Monkee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em><u>&#8220;Circus Monkee: Micky Dolenz Solo&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&#8220;BUZZ Newspaper Article (#60 mD) Mar 2016<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>By: RLSchwinden aka MrZerr0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Excerpt from the forth coming book: &#8220;<u>Here We Come&#8221;<\/u>\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When I was a kid in <strong><em>&#8217;72<\/em><\/strong> in <strong><em><u>Sioux City<\/u><\/em><\/strong>, my friends <strong><em><u>Spencer, Chris<\/u><\/em><\/strong> &amp; I used to watch <strong><em><u>&#8220;The MONKEES&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> on Saturdays about noon, &amp; I thought <strong><em><u>Micky Dolenz<\/u><\/em><\/strong> was about as cool as it got, <em>(to me)<\/em> he had a cool haircut <em>(in the 1st season 66-67)<\/em> he was the Lead singer &amp; played Drums, on a cool <strong><em><u>Champagne Pink Gretsch<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em> 5 piece drum set<\/em> &amp; sang lead on songs like <strong><em><u>&#8220;Saturday&#8217;s Child&#8221; &amp; &#8220;Tomorrow&#8217;s Gonna Be Another Day&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>&gt;\u00a0Count of Monte Cristo: 1956 -1965 &lt;<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He was born <strong><em><u>George Michael Dolenz Jr.<\/u> on 8 Mar 1945 in <a href=\"http:\/\/L.A.CA\">L.A.CA<\/a>. <\/em><\/strong>his parents <strong><em><u>George Sr.<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em> (Jure Dolenc: 5 Jan 1908; Triste: Slovene: Austria-Hungry &#8211; 8 Feb 1963;<\/em> <em>L.A.)<\/em> appeared in some <em>45 films &amp; TV shows<\/em>, &amp; his mother <strong><em><u>Janelle Johnson<\/u><\/em><\/strong> <em>(2 Dec<\/em> <em>1923; Austin TX. &#8211; 2 Dec 1995 CA.)<\/em> was a singer with her own radio show in <strong><em><u>Austin<\/u><\/em><\/strong> &amp; an actress in a couple of films, his younger sister <strong><em><u>Coco<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em> (Gemma Marie Dolenz: 5 Apr<\/em> <em>1949)<\/em> is also a talented singer who appeared in the <em>TV show <strong><u>&#8220;Circus Boy&#8221;<\/u><\/strong><\/em> with her brother &amp; sang on several <strong><em>MONKEES <\/em><\/strong>recordings.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>Micky,<\/u><\/em><\/strong> then known as <strong><em><u>&#8220;Micky Braddock&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> <em>(to avoid confusion with his father who<\/em> <em>was also still active actor)<\/em> landed the role as <strong><em><u>&#8220;Corky&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in the\u00a0 <strong><em><u>NBC<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em> TV show <strong><u>&#8220;Circus<\/u><\/strong><\/em> <strong><em><u>Boy&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> for\u00a0 <em>49 Episodes from Sep 1956 to Dec 1957<\/em>, there was a soundtrack 45 Single with Picture Sleeve released for this TV show, however; though <strong><em>Micky <\/em><\/strong>is pictured on the cover, he does not appear on the record, after that show ended he appeared on the <strong><em><u>&#8220;Zane Gray Theater: The Vaunted&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in &#8217;58 as <strong><em>&#8220;Ted Matson&#8221;<\/em><\/strong> then in &#8217;59 he appeared as <strong><em>&#8220;Melvin&#8221;<\/em><\/strong> on <strong><em><u>&#8220;Playhouse 90: Velvet Alley&#8221;.<\/u><\/em><\/strong> Micky took some time off from acting &amp; went to <em>technical school for drafting<\/em>, until the early 60s, when Dolenz took up singing, his 1st band was <strong><em><u>&#8220;Micky &amp; The One-Nighters&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> where they mostly performed <em>50s Rock &amp; Roll Covers<\/em>, such as <strong><em><u>&#8220;Johnny B. Goode&#8221;, &#8220;Too Much Monkey Business&#8221; &amp; &#8220;I Got\u00a0 A Woman&#8221;.<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In <strong><em>Feb &#8217;64<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em><u>The BEATLES<\/u><\/em><\/strong> hit America, &amp; <strong><em><u>Dolenz<\/u><\/em><\/strong> finds himself back on the small screen in <strong><em>Dec &#8217;64<\/em><\/strong> as <strong><em>&#8220;Ed&#8221;<\/em><\/strong> on <strong><em><u>&#8220;Mr. Novak: Born Of Kings &amp; Angles&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> followed by a <em>3 episode<\/em> stint on <strong><em><u>&#8220;Payton Place&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> as <strong><em>&#8220;Kitch Brunner&#8221;<\/em><\/strong> in <strong><em>Mar &#8217;65<\/em><\/strong>. Improving his guitar skills he was the <em>Lead Vocalist &amp; Rhythm Guitarist<\/em> for <strong><em><u>&#8220;The Missing Links&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> <em>(at this time there was no less than 3 different bands with this name; including 1 in NYC with a young man named Eugene Klein who eventually became Gene $immons of<\/em> <em>&#8220;KISS&#8221;)<\/em> this band cut a 3 song demo for <strong><em><u>&#8220;Challenge Records&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> which was eventually released when Dolenz was famous for being in <strong><em>The MONKEES<\/em><\/strong>. There was another 45 Single released under the name <strong><em><u>&#8220;Missing Links&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> however when I gave a copy to <em>Dolenz in &#8217;93 in Lincoln NE,<\/em> he stated <em>&#8220;Thanks for that, but those 2 songs are not me, I remember my 1st recording sessions, &amp; it wasn&#8217;t either of those 2 songs&#8221; <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>&gt; I&#8217;ll Meet You At The Station: 1965 -1970 &lt;<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the Fall of &#8217;65 <strong><em><u>Dolenz<\/u><\/em><\/strong> auditioned for a TV show titled <strong><em><u>&#8220;The MONKEES&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> &amp; won the role as the <strong><em>Lead Singer &amp; the Drummer<\/em><\/strong>, signing a <strong><em>7 year contract<\/em><\/strong>, they filmed <em>58 TV Episodes, 1 Film &amp; a TV Special, as\u00a0well as 13 single 45s, 10 LPs &amp; 4 CDs, &amp;<\/em> <em>4 concert tours<\/em> for the band, Dolenz also appeared in <strong><em>Sonny &amp; Cher&#8217;s 1967<\/em><\/strong> film <strong><em><u>&#8220;Good Times&#8221;.<\/u><\/em><\/strong> It was during the height of Dolenz&#8217;s popularity his 1st 45 Singles were released <strong><em><u>&#8220;Don&#8217;t Do It (Dolenz) b\/w Instrumental&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <strong><em>1966<\/em><\/strong> &amp; <strong><em><u>&#8220;Huff Puff b\/w<\/u><\/em><\/strong> <strong><em><u>Instrumental&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <strong><em>1967 <\/em><\/strong>both 45s were released on <strong><em><u>Challenge Records<\/u><\/em><\/strong>. Dolenz last official job for <strong><em>The MONKEES<\/em><\/strong> was a concert with <strong><em>David Jones<\/em><\/strong> on\u00a0<strong><em><u>16 Sep 1971<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <strong><em>Philadelphia <\/em><\/strong>for the radio station <strong><em><u>WFIL<\/u><\/em><\/strong>, and then, The MONKEES were no more.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>&gt; Don&#8217;t Care Who&#8217;s Side You&#8217;re On: 1971 -1972 &lt;<\/u><\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><em><u>Dolenz&#8217;s<\/u><\/em><\/strong> mother helped Micky invest his <strong><em>MONKEES&#8217;<\/em><\/strong> money wisely, so he didn&#8217;t really need to work, after about a year of <em>rest &amp; relaxation<\/em>, Dolenz went back to work as <strong><em>&#8220;Skip&#8221;<\/em><\/strong> on the <strong><em><u>&#8220;Funky Phantom&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <strong><em>1971 <\/em><\/strong>he also released his 1st post MONKEES solo single <strong><em><u>&#8220;Easy On You b\/w Oh Someone&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <strong><em>Oct 1971<\/em><\/strong> on <strong><em><u>MGM Records<\/u><\/em><\/strong>, the president of <strong><em><u>MGM <\/u><\/em><\/strong>was <strong><em><u>Mike Curb (24 Dec 1944)<\/u><\/em><\/strong> an old high school buddy of his, &amp; signed him to a recording contract. The <em>&#8220;A -Side&#8221;<\/em> was entirely done by Dolenz himself, it seems Dolenz liked a little bit of <em>comedy or goofiness<\/em> to his original compositions. &amp; the <em>&#8220;B-Side&#8221;<\/em> was his 1st work released with <strong><em><u>MONKEE: Peter Tork<\/u><\/em><\/strong> since <strong><em>Dec &#8217;68.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In <strong><em>1972<\/em><\/strong> Dolenz really kept himself busy, cutting a version of <strong><em><u>&#8220;Family Of Man&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> (released by: Three Dog Night) in Jan (still unreleased) &amp; then appearing in 3 TV Shows <strong><em><u>&#8220;My Three Sons&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <strong><em>Apr,<\/em><\/strong> &amp;\u00a0 <strong><em><u>&#8220;Adam 12&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> &amp; <strong><em><u>&#8220;Canon&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <strong><em>Sep<\/em><\/strong> &amp; the Film <strong><em><u>&#8220;Night Of<\/u><\/em><\/strong> <strong><em><u>The Strangler&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> as <strong><em>&#8220;Vance&#8221;<\/em><\/strong> which was released in <strong><em>Oct &#8217;72.<\/em><\/strong> His 2nd <em>MGM 45 Single<\/em> <strong><em><u>&#8220;Unattended In The Dungeon b\/w A Lover&#8217;s Prayer&#8221; <\/u><\/em><\/strong><em>(Randy Newman)<\/em> was released in <em>Jun \u201872,<\/em> Oddly enough there is a lyric in the song <strong><em>&#8220;Unattended&#8221;<\/em><\/strong> that Dolenz expressed a little concern over being released, as it was written <em>&#8220;I&#8217;d rather be<\/em> <em>kicked in the groin, than Make me play another gig in Des Moines&#8221;<\/em> now I lived in <strong><em>Des Moines, Iowa<\/em><\/strong> from <em>1984 -99,<\/em> I finally got a copy of this song in <em>Apr &#8217;87<\/em>, &amp; I played this record to death, &amp; I never caught the lyric, even after having written an article for <strong><em><u>&#8220;Monkeeshines&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <em>Sep 1991<\/em> on <em>Dolenz&#8217;s Solo recordings<\/em>. Several other songs were recorded at this time <em>(Jun &#8217;72)<\/em> with a <em>7 piece band &amp; 26 piece orchestra<\/em> <strong><em><u>&#8220;Since I Fell For You&#8221; &#8220;A Long Time Since St. Louis&#8221; &#8220;Love Is All I Have&#8221; &amp; &#8220;It&#8217;s Amazing To Me&#8221; (ver #1)<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the summer of &#8217;72 Dolenz teamed up with <em>MGM House Producer <strong><u>Michael Lloyd<\/u><\/strong><\/em> <em>(3<\/em> <em>Nov 1948)<\/em>&amp; several members of: <strong><em><u>&#8220;Superband&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em> (containing 2 members &#8220;3 Dog Night&#8221;)<\/em> to create the band <strong><em><u>&#8220;Starship&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> <em>(in an effort to hide Dolenz&#8217;s identity)<\/em> to release the single <strong><em><u>&#8220;Johnny B. Goode b\/w It&#8217;s Amazing To Me&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em> (ver #2) (Dolenz)<\/em>\u00a0 in <strong><em>Oct &#8217;72<\/em><\/strong> on\u00a0 <strong><em><u>Lion Records<\/u><\/em><\/strong> from the forth coming album <strong><em><u>&#8220;Future Rock&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> here are the other songs recorded for this <em>unreleased LP:<\/em> <strong><em><u>&#8220;Monkees Medley (4 songs)&#8221; &#8220;Long Tall Sally&#8221;\u00a0 &#8220;Little Bitty Pretty One&#8221; &#8220;Fools Gold&#8221; &#8220;Apple Cart&#8221; &#8220;What Can I Do&#8221; &#8220;When I&#8217;m With You&#8221; &#8220;Let The Good Times Roll&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em> (released by The Osmonds),<\/em> once the LP was released the band was to open for <strong><em><u>The Osmonds<\/u><\/em><\/strong> on the <em>&#8217;72 -73 &#8220;Crazy Horses<\/em> <em>Tour&#8221;<\/em> unfortunately the LP was never released therefore they were unable to participate on the tour &amp; the project disbanded.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>&gt; Where You Been: 1973 -1974 &lt;<\/u><\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nThings began slowing down for <strong><em>Dolenz <\/em><\/strong>in <strong><em>&#8217;73<\/em><\/strong>, for his next single he teamed up with his old friend <strong><em><u>Harry Nilsson<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em> (see BUZZ Article #40-Nn)<\/em> <strong><em><u>&#8220;Daybreak b\/w Love War&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> <em>(Dolenz)<\/em> was released in <strong><em>May \u201873<\/em><\/strong> on <strong><em><u>Romar Records<\/u><\/em><\/strong>. <strong><em>Nilsson<\/em><\/strong> had a new film <strong><em><u>&#8220;Son Of Dracula&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> coming out in <strong><em>Apr &#8217;74<\/em><\/strong>, a <em>2nd promo copy<\/em> of <strong><em><u>&#8220;Daybreak&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> remixed &amp; was sent out to radio stations to promote the film. <strong><em>MONKEES<\/em><\/strong> Producer <strong><em><u>Chip Douglas <\/u><\/em><\/strong><em>(27 Aug 1942)<\/em> created a promo video for this song, being the very 1st Dolenz solo video. The <em>&#8220;B-Side&#8221;<\/em> is another Dolenz original, hysterical, lyrically, there were 2 other songs recorded during these sessions <strong><em><u>&#8220;(listen to the) Mocking Bird&#8221; &amp; &#8220;Long Time St. Louis<\/u><\/em><\/strong> <em>(ver #2).<\/em> In <strong><em><u>Sep &#8217;73<\/u><\/em><\/strong> Dolenz auditioned for the role of <strong><em>&#8220;Fonzie&#8221;<\/em><\/strong> on <strong><em><u>&#8220;Happy Days&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> he lost out to <strong><em><u>Henry Winkler<\/u><\/em><\/strong>. Micky did make 2 TV appearances on\u00a0 the TV shows <strong><em><u>&#8220;Butch Cassidy&#8221; &amp; &#8220;Owen Marshall Attorney At Law&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in Oct &#8217;73, from here on out Dolenz usually <em>did voice over work in cartoons<\/em>. Dolenz&#8217;s final single for <strong><em>MGM<\/em><\/strong> was released in <strong><em>Mar &#8217;74<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em><u>&#8220;Buddy Holly Tribute:&#8221;PeggySue, EveryDay, Maybe Baby, That&#8217;ll Be The Day&#8221; b\/w Ooh She&#8217;s Young&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em> (Dolenz)<\/em> on <strong><em><u>Romar Records<\/u><\/em><\/strong> to capitalize on the <strong><em><u>&#8220;American\u00a0Graffiti&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> \u00a0film trend, he also appeared on the TV shows: <strong><em><u>&#8220;These Are The Days&#8221; &amp; &#8220;Devlin&#8221;.<\/u><\/em><\/strong> Sometime in &#8217;74 Dolenz traveled to <strong><em><u>London <\/u><\/em><\/strong>to begin work on a <em>50s Covers album<\/em> tentatively titled <strong><em><u>&#8220;I<\/u><\/em><\/strong> <strong><em><u>Hate Rock &amp; Roll&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0along with the title song, these other songs recorded for this LP \u00a0<strong><em><u>&#8220;Purple People Eater&#8221; &#8220;Splish Splash&#8221; &amp; &#8220;Wing Walker&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> a song written by former <strong><em><u>MONKEES<\/u><\/em><\/strong> songwriter <strong><em><u>Bill Martin (R.I.P. 27 Jan 2016),<\/u><\/em><\/strong> legendary <strong><em><u>&#8220;RAINBOW&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> member <strong><em><u>Cozy<\/u><\/em><\/strong> <strong><em><u>Powell <\/u><\/em><\/strong><em>(1947-1998),<\/em> provided the drums for these tracks.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>&gt; I Remember The Feeling: 1974 -1977 &lt;<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong><em><u>McDonald&#8217;s<\/u><\/em><\/strong> company had the idea to <em>unit all 4 original MONKEES<\/em> for a TV commercial, at the exact same time a promotion company offered <em>all 4 original<\/em> <strong><em><u>MONKEES<\/u><\/em><\/strong> a <em>US Summer Tour<\/em>, problems arose when <strong><em><u>Tork<\/u><\/em><\/strong> informed <strong><em>McDonald&#8217;s<\/em><\/strong> he was a <em>vegetarian<\/em> &amp; would not be part of the commercial &amp; <strong><em><u>Nesmith<\/u><\/em><\/strong> would only do a tour if a <em>new album<\/em> was part of the deal, the company only wanted a tour &amp; did not want to fund a new LP. <strong><em><u>Dolenz &amp; Jones<\/u><\/em><\/strong>, now seasoned entertainers &amp; never afraid to work, contacted their former <em>MONKEES Songwriters, Producer &amp; Musicians<\/em> <strong><em><u>Tommy Boyce &amp;<\/u><\/em><\/strong><u> <strong><em>Bobby Hart<\/em><\/strong><\/u> <em>(see BUZZ article #11-K)<\/em> to form <strong><em><u>&#8220;Dolenz, Jones, Boyce &amp; Hart&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> from <strong><em><u>1974 to 1976<\/u><\/em><\/strong> for\u00a0 <em>2 Concert Tours 1 LP (with 1 song being written in a Des<\/em> <em>Moines airport) &amp; 2 Singles &amp; 1 TV Special (Betamax)<\/em>. <strong><em>Dolenz <\/em><\/strong>in his down time appeared in 2 films<strong><em><u>:&#8221;Keep Off My Grass&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <strong><em>Mar &#8217;75<\/em><\/strong> &amp; <strong><em><u>&#8220;Linda Lovelace For<\/u><\/em><\/strong> <strong><em><u>President&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <strong><em>Apr &#8217;75<\/em><\/strong>. <strong><em><u>Boyce &amp; Hart<\/u><\/em><\/strong> hung with the project long enough to complete their 2 year contract, where as the other 2 continued as <strong><em><u>&#8220;Dolenz\u00a0 &amp; Jones (w\/ Coco)&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> from <strong><em>1977 -78<\/em><\/strong> releasing <em>1 LP &amp; performing 2 Concert Tours &amp; 2 Musicals &amp; a couple TV<\/em> <em>&amp; Radio appearances<\/em> <em>(once on Rodney Bingenheimer&#8217;s KROC Dolenz confessed he<\/em> <em>was a fan of the band KISS).<\/em> Dolenz also did voice work in <strong><em><u>&#8220;Skatebirds&#8221; &#8220;Captain<\/u><\/em><\/strong> <strong><em><u>Caveman&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in \u201877 &amp; <strong><em><u>&#8220;Scooby Doo &amp; Dynomutt Hour&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <em>Nov &#8217;78.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>&gt; Me, I Got Nothin To Do: 1979- 83 &lt;<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>Dolenz &amp; Jones<\/u><\/em><\/strong> went to the <strong><em><u>UK<\/u><\/em><\/strong> to perform in <strong><em>Nilsson&#8217;s <u>&#8220;The Point&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> Musical, when the play ended Dolenz stayed in England, he did release <strong><em><u>&#8220;Love Light b\/w Alicia\u201d<\/u><\/em><\/strong> (Dolenz) on <strong><em><u>Chrysalis Records<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <em>&#8217;79<\/em> with a <em>Promo Video<\/em> starring his wife <strong><em>Trina,<\/em><\/strong> before hanging up his musical &amp; acting career to become a\u00a0 BBC director for the next few years. Then <strong><em><u>Kodak<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in Japan used a <strong><em><u>MONKEES&#8217; <\/u><\/em><\/strong>song in a 1981 TV commercial which launched the 2nd big MONKEES&#8217; resurgence. In 1991 Dolenz embarks on his <em>2nd solo career<\/em> finally releasing several solo CDs <em>(no vinyl)<\/em>\u00a0<strong><em><u>\u201dPuts You To Sleep&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in 1991 &amp; toured with Donnie Brooks for the <strong><em><u>&#8220;30 Years Of Rock N Roll Show&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> I saw Dolenz, <em>3 times<\/em> on this tour in <strong><em>Burlington, IA. Merrilleville, IN. &amp; Okaboji, IA.<\/em><\/strong> I was able to speak with Dolenz several times &amp; give him several cassettes of his solo records <em>&#8220;Thanks man, I don&#8217;t have any of that stuff anymore, I have been divorced<\/em> <em>twice!&#8221;<\/em> Micky appeared on the <strong><em><u>&#8220;Ben Stiller Show: With Rob Marrow; The Grungies&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <strong><em>Nov &#8217;92,<\/em><\/strong> <em>(this is absolutely worth watching)<\/em> &amp; <strong><em><u>&#8220;Batman: Animated<\/u><\/em><\/strong> <strong><em><u>Series&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> &amp; once again touring with the <strong><em><u>&#8220;Classic Rock All Stars&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <strong><em>&#8217;92<\/em><\/strong> I saw him in; <strong><em>Des Moines, IA. Williamsburg,\u00a0 IA. &amp; Lincoln, NE.<\/em><\/strong> He appeared in the film <strong><em><u>&#8220;Deadfall&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <em>Oct 1993<\/em>,\u00a0 &amp; released his book <strong><em><u>&#8220;I&#8217;m A Believer&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> also in <strong><em>\u201893<\/em><\/strong> \u00a0followed by his 2nd solo CD <strong><em><u>&#8220;Broadway Micky&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <strong><em>1994<\/em><\/strong> &amp; also appeared in the TV series <strong><em><u>&#8220;Monty&#8221;, &#8220;Ah, Real Monsters&#8221;, &amp; &#8220;The Tick&#8221; &amp; &#8220;Boy Meets World&#8221; <\/u>in &#8217;95.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>The MONKEES<\/u><\/em><\/strong> Trio reunited from <strong><em>1996 -97<\/em><\/strong>, &amp; Dolenz was directing the TV series <strong><em><u>&#8220;Pacific Blue&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> &amp; then surprisingly <strong><em>Nesmith<\/em><\/strong> joined them in &#8217;97, releasing a <em>CD, a TV<\/em> <em>Special, a Rockumentary &amp; a Concert Tour<\/em>, until they called it quits in late &#8217;97. Dolenz made an appearance in the TV movie <strong><em><u>&#8220;Love Bug&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> also in <strong><em>&#8217;97<\/em><\/strong>. Then <strong><em>Dolenz <\/em><\/strong>embarked on his <em>3rd solo career<\/em> releasing his <em>3rd solo CD<\/em> <strong><em><u>&#8220;Demoiselle&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> on his own in <strong><em><u>1998<\/u><\/em><\/strong> &amp; was in the TV show <strong><em><u>&#8220;Secret Files Of Spy Dogs&#8221; &amp; &#8220;Invisible Mom 2&#8221;.<\/u><\/em><\/strong> The Trio: <strong><em><u>Jones, Dolenz &amp; Tork<\/u><\/em><\/strong> reunited from <strong><em><u>2000 -2001<\/u><\/em><\/strong>, after this last tour <strong><em><u>Jones<\/u><\/em><\/strong> had no interest in working with the others again until <strong><em><u>2011<\/u><\/em><\/strong>. Micky appeared in <strong><em><u>&#8220;Power Puff<\/u><\/em><\/strong> <strong><em><u>Girls&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <strong><em>2000<\/em><\/strong> &amp; in the <strong><em><u>&#8220;Drew Carey Show&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <strong><em>2001<\/em><\/strong> &amp; &amp; in <strong><em><u>&#8220;As the World Turns&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <strong><em>2002<\/em><\/strong>, I myself saw Dolenz in 2002 &amp; 2003 in <strong><em>Mille Lacs, MN. @ The Grand Casino.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nIn the last few years<strong><em> Dolenz<\/em><\/strong> appeared in <strong><em><u>&#8220;Johnny Bravo&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <strong><em>2004<\/em><\/strong>. He was in\u00a0<strong><em>Rob Zombie&#8217;s <u>&#8220;Halloween&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <strong><em>2007<\/em><\/strong> &amp; released his <em>4th solo CD<\/em> <strong><em><u>&#8220;King For A Day&#8221;<\/u><\/em><\/strong> in <strong><em>2010<\/em><\/strong>, shortly after the final reunion with <strong><em><u>Jones, Dolenz &amp; Tork<\/u><\/em><\/strong>.
