Dr. Rox Remember When?

So in my enduring quest to preserve and bring vintage music to the masses, I have embarked on a new co-op opportunity with an existing radio show on WFNU 94.1fm Rick Burnett’s “Hits And History” on Monday mornings 8:30 to 9:30am.  Now you need to understand Rick’s show is on every Monday morning, however Mr. Zero’s co-hosting is only on Every 2nd Monday of the Month @ 8:30am – 9:30am.

Sometime in December 2018 (right around Mr. Zero’s 10th Xmas $ALE) DJ Rick Burnett who runs “Twin Cities Airchecks .Com” a website dedicated to preserving radio history, for an example of this website Burnett showed me a photo of “Mean Gene” Okerlund in the WDGY studios from back in the day when he was DJ Gene Leader, anyways, back to our story …

Burnett came into talk to me because he had heard my “PsychoGello Radio Show” on WDGY as well as he heard me guesting on WFNU’s “90min Radio Hour” we began talking and Burnett commented on the wealth of knowledge and experience I bring to the 2 other radio shows and would I be interested in guesting on his Monday WFNU Show “Hits & History” I responded with a resounding “Yes, when do we begin” Burnett then asked me for an “Themed Show”  I immediately came up with “Mr. Zero’s The Year (In Review)” the 1st show was “1966 USA” followed by “1966 UK” (which aired in Jan 2019) and part 3 to air in February 2019, “1966 R&B”.

Since the show is titled “Hits And History” and is an hour long what I decided to do was pick about 12 of my favorite songs form that specific time period, and talk about  how high they charted and when they charted, and some back history on the song and artist themselves.
